Overview
Follow-up assessments are a critical part of the care process, ensuring that patients are achieving optimal outcomes following their initial assessment. However, there are circumstances where a follow-up cannot be completed, such as a patient passing away, becoming unreachable, or other unforeseen situations. In these cases, it is still important to document the attempt to follow up with the patient to close the loop and maintain a complete clinical picture.
The Bypass Follow-Up feature allows you to record the reason a follow-up could not be completed, supporting thorough and accurate record-keeping. This is especially important in provinces where follow-up is mandatory as part of reimbursement program criteria, as documenting the reason for an incomplete follow-up can help prevent claim reversals and protect assessments in the event of an audit.
How to Bypass a Follow-Up Assessment
- From the Dashboard, navigate to the Assessments without follow-up table.
- In the Actions column, select the Can’t perform follow-up icon. If this is not visible, you may need to select the three dots first.
- A pop-up will appear asking for the reason. Provide your response, then select Confirm.
